I was around 12 years old when I first beat this game. I had gotten to the final boss when the power indicator started to fade. I died on my first attempt, then raced back through the level trying to get back to the boss before the batteries died. I beat him this time, and as the credits started to roll, the image melted away. It was probably the greatest gaming moment of my youth (sob!). BTW, the credits music is great, if you can remember it.
